Could my brother be opening up some?

I heard my brother and father talking about ( California Proposition 8 - is titled Eliminates Right of Same- Couples to Marry) this morning my dad and brother was talking about prop 8 and my brother said that he's voting NO on it. I was really shocked because all of this time he disliked gays and yes even myself. The last 2 months he's also been coming around me & my boyfriend more and seems more open-minded etc. Could he finally be getting past his hateful ways about gays?
