A farmer going to market?

A farmer has to take a bag of grain , A chicken and his dog to market, on the way to market he has to cross crocodile infested river, the raft to cross the river only fits himself and 1 other item, he cant leave the chicken and grain together as the chicken will eat the grain, and cant leave the dog with the chicken as he will kill it, how does he get them all to the other side
