Is one reason many don't agree with Socialism?

Is one reason many don't agree with Socialism is because you believe that individuals have the right to become Wealthy by being CEOS or Shareholders of Corporations ? Also what would be so bad with having collective ownership or employe ownership of the means of production and not employer ownership ? There would be no bosses the employes would become their own bosses the employes would vote for their own employers why would that be bad what is wrong with Democratic Socialism ?
