Does my crush like me back?

I have a crush on this guy and I have no idea if he likes me back. I only have gym with him, but last period is op, it is like when we do our homework and see teachers and stuff. We are in different homeroom cles, but we hang out during op. He is one of my best friends and we get together every week end. He told me he lked me once, but then like a day later said he didn't. He has liked my ex best friend for awhile. Everyone thinks he likes me, and some even think we are going out. At dances, he follows me around, but doesnt ask me to dance. We hug sometimes, but its quick and its just means nothing. Everytime he sees me, he shouts my name and runs over to me. We sit together at lunch and we walk out to the buses together too. Everytime he has a problem he comes to me. But remeber we are also best friends, so is it to late to ask him out? Are we too god of friends? What do you think? Does he like me?
